So i created a funny animation called Kiko. You can actually switch faces by clicking the right, left, up arrows. If you click the right arrow it shows you a sad face and if you click the left arrow it goes back to the normal face. The last one is my favorite when you click the up arrow kiko opens his Big eyes!!!

This will only work if you have the Pico board. Click on the green flag to continue. Then move your slider up and down from the Pico Board. this will make Kiko face look deform.

Today i will be using scratch. Im going to be using the Pico Board. With the PicoBoard, your Scratch™ projects can sense and respond to things going on in the world outside your computer.

SO THIS WEEK HAS BEEN REALLY INTERESTING BECAUSE IVE DOWNLOAD A LOT OF DIFFERENT GAMES. MY FAVORITE ONE WAS THIS 3D SOCCER GAME WHICH I COULD NOT DOWNLOAD IN MY COMPUTER BECAUSE THE GAME NO LONGER EXISTED ON THE WEBSITE. SO I PLAYED ON JOSEPH'S COMPUTER

Today I played this Soccer game that runs through flash but i used it on Joseph's Computer because this game no longer exist on the website So therefore I cant download it. :(

Today I downloaded the Maze activity and i think is great. I love how it gets harder and harder when you complete the level.

So this week I've been checking out different programs and some activities are awesome but some are just terrible or have minor bugs.

on Thursday Joseph and I discovered a way that we can use Sugar in emulatator by going to the command prompt and type sugar and press enter. Here a snapshot

This week has been really exited. We finally got our own Java server and we also made a lot of improvement on using the command prompt. I've learn more codes, for example to remove program or add program you use rm-rf. So im just waiting for the Java Server to take place im really looking forward to talk to diffident people from Salvador.

Prompt Command Codes:
ls -a it list all files in your home directory including those whose names begin with a dot

by typing "mkdir" and then type ls -a to view all folder. I created a folder named jfelix.

Cd. (..) means the parent of the current directory, so typing

% cd .. changes Directory

Falabracman is a fun program also, a great program for kids to spell out words without touching anything. My question is, Can we add our own words? Im making research on it. I founded a bug using this program. The bug is i cant set the activity for the spanish version, it only works on the Portugise version.

The last bug I found was that Surf DOES NOT!! have Java Script.

This week i will be working on sugar and discovered bugs on on the activities for examples if they work properely. I will file any bugs that I see on Blogger. I will write a list of all the activities that I have on Sugar and reate them on a scale of 1-10. Stay tuned!!!

Today is Saturday the 16th. Im here at the Sugar Remix party with jorge and other expirecence user of Sugar. Today ill be asking questions about Sugar to those who are experts on Sugar Program. Ill be also taking notes of the Presentation.

The issues of Sugar:
Needs more quality assurance before deployment, Web browswer poorly w/ Sugar.
How come we cant save are creations from the application of Physics? it would be cool if we can convert are creation to media format, so everybody can view my creation from Sugar.

Today finally Henry and his group finished the server. This server let us have are own server which allows us to be the administrator and we can also invites other to our server through out the world specially El Salvador. So I'm looking forward in working on this server to meet other and ask question about Sugar.This week i been exploring Sugar and I found a couple of bugs. The main one I found was that Firefox crashed down every time i log in on Blogger, or sometimes it would freeze up on me. My partner Joseph send a Bug eror to the technicians so they can fix this problem. I hope Sugar is fix before the 16th.

I made my own research on Sugar. My question was if i can synchronize music into the flip sticks. My question was answered by Walter Bender. I spoke to him on Chat; he told me that i cant upload no music on there. I had another question but this time Mr. Elkner my computer teacher answered my question. The question was; Can I use the prompt from sugar to direct me to the Internet? He said ' Good Question'. Yes. In order to do that you have to put some codes which I don't know how to do it. I would love to learn them for the future.

My goal for this week is to learn more about Sugar and the prompt.

Today Ill be working on a new task. Ill be working on Sugar. Sugar has this program called Flipsticks. My goal is to synchronize music in it, but I think is not possible.

First Day

lHey everybody today is my first day being a Junior. im still thinking what should be my next topic to work for this quarter but ill update this blog when i choose a topic.

I finally found a topic that would be interesting to work with. I did Turtle Art last year but I'm not 100% comfortable. So ill be working on it this quarter. Also ill be working on scratch tolearn more about it

I'm working on a new animation on my hobbies. One of my hobby im working is on Djing on weekends. I have a question, when my character is talking i would like for my other charter to not be present. I was wondering how do you hide the character. I tried to broadcast my message to the other charter and the charter receiving it but it did not work.

Today I changed my mind instead of making an object go thorough obstacles, i'm making a Maze and a round object. today I'm working on a new project using Scratch. My plan for this week is I'm going to make an object, that object is going to go through obstacles without touching them.

Bug about Scratch

First thing I have noticed about Scratch is that every single game do not have rules or directions in how to play the game.

Description:

Turtle Art is an activity with a Logo-inspired graphical "turtle" that draws colorful art based on Scratch like snap-together visual programming elements. The conditionals and some of the functions only take constants or variables, not expressions. Scratch is a programming language that makes it easy to create your own interactive stories, animations, games, music, and art.

Goals:

1. Learn to use all of the programing blocks in Scratch and TurtleArt.
2. To be able to draw a program by hand and then make a TurtleArt program to draw it.
3. To be able to make up a story (story board) and then make a Scratch program to tell it.

Turtle Art

Today I'm playing around with Turtle Art to discovered and learn how to use it. For the first day of it i think i'm doing pretty good. I'm trying to create colorful Tubes going up and down but i just cant get them to change color. I try to replace the number to a red block that equal 0 but it gives me just a red dot,instead of a straight Tube.

I finally found how to so straight colorful tubes. The way you can do a straight tube is too use a block that is called Set Color and then you just type the color code.

The way of the program

What to do you think about Computers? What do you have to deal with when it comes to computer? I learn that computer has to do a lot with Mathematic,engineering, and natural science; is hard to believe but is true. The single most important skill for a computer scientist is problem solving. Problem solving means the ability to formulate problems, think creatively about solutions, and express a solution clearly and accurately.

Function-is a named sequence of statements that performs a desired operation. This operation is specified in a function definition.

I am currently on chapter four on the How to Think like a Computer Scientist python lessons. When reading and going through these chapters, I'm glad that I had worked with Webster the Robot. A lot of this is kinda of a review from Webster.

Macromedia Flash 8

Hey everybody today is my 2nd week using Flash, I think is a great program. I'm still learning the basics about it right now I created a character and i made it move up,down and side to side. I also created a back side of the character. In order to move the charter you have to use a lot of coding and numbers. Today I learn that Math has to do a lot with computers for example they ask you for a x and a y interception.

Start of The 3rd Quarter

For this quarter I'm going to be making research on Flash. Today I found a website on Flash the website name is http://eduscapes.com/flash/basics.htm#1. I'm going to be researching about the basics about Flash.

In order to view graphics, audio, video, animation that can run from a web browser, CD, or on the desktop of computers and hand-held devices. In order to do Flash you have to know the step. First,you have to do a Stage this is the area where you will be working with the visual aspects of your project. Then you have to make a time line the Time line is set up in rows representing layers and columns representing time by individual frames. After, is the Media object such as graphics, audio, and sound are imported into the Flash Library. Finally, is the Action Script Code is used to add interactions and controls to your project.

Today Thursday the 28th I tried to download Adobe Professional but is not compatible for Ubuntu only for Windows and Mac. I also tried to download the purchased Studio 8 and it didn't work Im still researching why it doesn't work.

I finally installed Studio 8. The reason why it did not let me download it because I did not have Wine

Webster the Robot's World

Webster is a robot he knows how to move but in this program you can teach him how to make new moves and tricks like moving twice or moving 3 times. Today I thought Webster to build a wall. I think this is an amazing activity because it teach you about programing. Teaching a robot is like communicating with a computer. On my next article I'm going to talk about teaching him how to run into walls he feels no pain. But they do have emotions!

Today I thought Webster to walk around without running in into walls, it was a little tricky but i think I've got it. Here is a link to the basics walk of Webster and the step of him going around without hitting the wall. My thought abouts this game is great i thing this activity is really good for teaching young adults about programing. There some few things that I do not like is that, This activity should have a button to save your process rather than starting all over your work again.
